Cliff’s Comment: Those of us who are proud to be Australian can revel in our Nation’s rich culture when we listen to Ted & Jan. Those of us who have adopted this country as their own will learn more about Australia in 20 minutes than the majority will have learned in 20 years. Take my word for it. This will be a very special show. Jan brings to life such amazing Australians as Bill Harney (Bilarney to the people of the Territory) and Ted immortalizes the characters of Australia in story and song. This show will be an absolute RIPPER!!.
There is no script for this show. It’s Northern Territory ambassador, singer and raconteur Ted Egan and Territory traveller, story-teller and musician Jan ‘Yarn’ Wositzky, on stage to surprise each other and the audience with which ever song, tale or character they come up with next.
Part yarn-spinning contest between two writers, part jam session between two great Australian musical entertainers, with Ted on the beer box and Jan on banjo, harmonica and bones, they give voice to a place they love – the Territory, north of the ten commandments.
With mobs of fun, a dash of pathos, a touch of theatre, an appearance by Bill Harney and plenty to think about, Ted and Jan run the show in strict accordance to the eleventh commandment: thou shalt not be boring.
It’s an elastic two hours, possibly a one-off, and definitely not to be missed!
